چکیده

ABSTRACT We present a detailed analysis of time variability two distinct C iv broad absorption line (BAL) components seen in the spectrum J162122.54+075808.4 (zem = 2.1394) using observations from SDSS, NTT, and SALT taken at seven different epochs spanning about 15 yr. The blue-BAL component (with an ejection velocity, $v_{\rm e}\sim 37\, 500$ km s−1) is emerging that shows equivalent width variations kinematic shifts consistent with acceleration. red-BAL ($v_{\rm e} \sim 15\, 400$ three-component absorption. One subsequently disappearing. other show acceleration coupled variability. Interestingly, we find blue- to be correlated. While emission-line flux varies by more than 17 per cent during our monitoring period, available light curves (covering rest frame 1300–2300 Å) do not 0.1 mag continuum. This suggests ionizing are larger near-ultraviolet flux. However, correlated between BAL cannot explained solely photoionization models without structural changes. In framework disc wind models, any changes radial profiles density and/or velocity triggered either instabilities or radiation can explain observations. High-resolution spectroscopic J1621+0758 important understand physical conditions absorbing gas thereby constrain parameters models.

Extremely High Velocity Outflows

Extremely high velocity (EHV) wings, with full widths of 72 to 140 km s, are seen on the CO J = 3→2 lines toward W3 IRS 5, GL 490, NGC 2071, W28 A2 (G05.89–0.39), GL 2591, S140, and Cepheus A. Observations of CO and CO J = 3→2 and J = 2→1 lines indicate that optical depth generally decreases with increasing velocity separation from the ambient cloud velocity. Maps of the extremely high velocity...

High Velocity Outflows in Narrow Absorption Line Quasars

The current paradigm for the AGN phenomenon is a central engine that consists of an inflow of material accreting in the form of a disk onto a supermassive black hole. Observations in the UV and optical find high velocity ionized material outflowing from the black hole. We present results from Suzaku and XMM-Newton observations of a sample of intrinsic NAL quasars with high velocity outflows. Ou...

The Mass - Velocity and Position - Velocity Relations in Episodic Outflows

While observational evidence for the episodic nature of young stellar outflows continues to mount, existing numerical and theoretical models of molecular outflows assume they are formed by the interaction of a non-episodic wind from a young stellar object with an ambient cloud. In this Letter we estimate and discuss the effects of episodicity on the mass-velocity and position-velocity relations...

Correlated Variability in Blazars

Blazars are thought to emit highly-collimated outflows, so-called jets. By their close alignment to our line of sight, relativistic beaming effects enable us to observe these jets over the whole electromagnetic spectrum up to TeV energies, making them ideal laboratories for studying jet physics. In the last years multiwavelength observations of blazars provided us with detailed data sets which ...
